For a long time, George tried every way to arrange a date with Ifigeneia, inviting her to his birthday and to various events he organized, but she couldn’t make it. Still, his persistence paid off. After some thought—and a little shyness—Ifigeneia finally invited him to an event her brother was hosting.
Despite having a fever and being on antibiotics, George didn’t miss the chance and showed up with their koumbaros (best man) and his girlfriend. That evening proved decisive, and the very next day their first date opened the way to a shared journey full of love and beautiful moments.
THE PROPOSAL
A few months later, a trip to America would mark their lives forever. In Central Park, beneath the “Bridge of Promises” (Bow Bridge), during a romantic boat ride, George knelt and, with words from the heart, slipped onto Ifigeneia’s hand the ring that will forever symbolize their love. The answer could only be a resounding “Yes!”
